Time Machine
One of Mom's old clocks. You can tell it's old because it says "Made in the U.S.A." on it. ;-)
I'm trying to get a photo good enough to enter into the Amateur Macros "time" competition. Still not quite there yet.

Treadbare
I went to the Aquarium of the Pacific with a friend today. It was awesome; I love that place! :) The Grand Prix of Long Beach is next week, so the downtown area is being converted into a racing circuit, complete with bleachers and tire buffers. It's a good flight of fantasy to drive through!
I really seem to be on a square-cropping kick lately, don't I?

Children Can Be Pinned
This a sign in the garage, warning that children can become pinned under the automatic door as it closes. Yikes!

XYZ
I was sitting at Starbucks today with my camera, playing around. I'm fairly fascinated by zippers and other things like that, so perhaps it's no surprise that I eventually started taking pictures of them. This zipper is from one of the mid-thigh pockets on my most serious cargo pants.
Looks like I've been on a black-and-white kick lately.

No Bad Days
I went to the craft supply store to get some paperboard for a "poor man's" photo backdrop. Because I'm tired of my room and other things like that being in the background of my macro photos. I tested it out this evening after taking my medication; pills always make good photo subjects! So here's the result. You can see the fuzziness from the long exposure, and the crappy yellow tinge due to the color of my bedroom lights. I'll try again tomorrow and should get a better result.

Lady Liberty
I had to go to Fry's to get some printer ink today. On the way there, there's a tax-preparation service, and they've always got a person in some kind of patriotic get-up working the corner. It's not uncommon to see Uncle Sam around as well.
I know it's a lean time for civil liberties, but I didn't think it was bad enough for Lady Liberty herself to become a "lady of the evening!"

Disneyland
Heather, Holly, Kevin, and me at Disneyland. I had a lot of fun; it was just the kind of escape from the real world that I've been needing. It was a bit unnerving that so many of the rides had "technical difficulties," though. Maybe they were just worn out from the weekend. And the Matterhorn was closed for renovation?! That's one of the reasons I went! X( But at least we got to go on Pirates and Space Mountain. The latter was just as fun as I remembered; it was worth the extra wait.
The one downside to Disneyland is that it's a good place for couples to go. Not a good place for a romantically jaded individual such as myself. But I managed. ;)
The standard friends-and-family disclaimer applies.

Mixer
I set up my turntables yesterday. I'd taken them down because they take up a lot of room, and I needed more space and less clutter. It's been too long! I suck at beatmatching again. ;_; Anyway, here's a closeup of my mixer.

Records Are Cool
I've been recording some records to the computer so I can put them on my iPod. I got a bit distracted at one point and started taking some pictures, of which this is one. This is me peeping through an Aphex Twin picture disc (Analord 10) that I bought not too long ago. Vinyl is way more fun to collect than CDs or MP3s. The only problem, of course is that records are also way more expensive. I saw a vinyl album of Nine Inch Nails's Year Zero at—ugh—Hot Topic, and it was $35. Ouch!
