The Light in the Tunnel

Light in the Tunnel

Here's another one from our Disneyland trip. The Indiana Jones ride is pretty damned fun, in my opinion. When Kevin was much younger we took him on it, and he was catatonic for around 10 minutes afterward. He wouldn't talk or anything. It was sad, but pretty funny at the same time! Going on it this time, I can see how it might upset a kid; it's pretty epic. Luckily he did better this time. :P

This one's public, so anyone can grab one of the larger sizes if they wish.

Disneyland

The Crew

Heather, Holly, Kevin, and me at Disneyland. I had a lot of fun; it was just the kind of escape from the real world that I've been needing. It was a bit unnerving that so many of the rides had "technical difficulties," though. Maybe they were just worn out from the weekend. And the Matterhorn was closed for renovation?! That's one of the reasons I went! X( But at least we got to go on Pirates and Space Mountain. The latter was just as fun as I remembered; it was worth the extra wait.

The one downside to Disneyland is that it's a good place for couples to go. Not a good place for a romantically jaded individual such as myself. But I managed. ;)

The standard friends-and-family disclaimer applies.

Baby Aaron

Aaron

This is my new half-brother Aaron. He's always got such a serious, contemplative look on his face. It's really cute! I was holding him the other day and got weirded out thinking about how I'm old enough to be his dad. At this point, I'm not convinced I will ever be ready for kids (not that that upsets me right now). In any case, fate has conspired to keep me far from that activity which could cause me to become a parent. So there are good points to that. Well, one good point, anyway... ;)

As with most photos of the family, you'll have to be registered on Flickr as a friend or family member in order to see any other sizes.

A Self Portrait

Self Portrait 02/21

Yep, this is the unholy visage behind 366 Days, Neuroflux, and catatronic.net. ;) Oh, that's right; I've posted one of me before.

Behind me on the left is the sleeve for Noisia & Mayhem's Choke 12". To the right, a Domo-kun calendar. This month Domo is a ninja; last month, he was a rockstar. What will he do next month?

I've had a long, long, stressful week. I don't really want to talk about it any more.

Heather Says "Grrr"

Grrr

My apologies for slacking again for the past few days. I had kind of a rough week resulting in a pretty major emotional breakdown. At least I appear to be getting better for the time being.

Heather, Holly, and I went to the bank today to transfer some money to pay bills. I surprised Heather with the camera as she was getting into the car. Hence the "don't take candid pictures of me" face. But candids are the best!

No Lifeguard on Duty

No Lifeguard on Duty

Weekends aren't always too exciting, since that's when I do most of my homework. So here's another one from yesterday. If the lifeguard's breaking beer bottles on the tower, I certainly hope they're not on duty! ;)

Balance

Balance I

Went to the beach today for some photo ops. It was later in the day than I would have liked, but oh well. Little rock stacks like these were more or less exactly what I was looking for! I think this shot turned out really well; it was definitely the best of the bunch.

Dread Head

Dread Head

Holly's trying to put her hair in dreadlocks, but it seems awfully short. I think it's pretty awesome how it is, though. Except that it reminds me of Pinhead from the Hellraiser series, which is kinda scary.

I took the CSE 131 midterm today. I think it went pretty well, but it seems hard to tell these days. I'm certain that I did better on this one than on the 169 final, though. That's good news. I also got a totally awesome Gorillapod for my camera today. =D I can't wait to start using it.

Street Education

Street Education

Had class in the evening, as is usual for Mondays and Wednesdays. We got our midterms back from Monday, and I did... not so well. :-/ I made a lot of little mistakes, and unfortunately small mistakes can add up to big points. It wasn't all bad, though, because I got this cool photo. I sure wonder what chain of events led to this stick of chalk's untimely demise on the sidewalk, alone in the night.

Jitensha Sumo

Jitensha Sumo

Holly and I went to Blick Art Materials downtown today. I got a few more Copic markers, so now my 72-marker wire stand is fully loaded. Completion! I have quite a good assortment now.

This bike was parked outside; it has some kind of rubber sumo wrestler mounted on the handlebars, which I found rather amusing. Not a great shot, but I guess you can't expect a masterpiece every time...

Bug's Eye View

Bug's Eye View

That flu really took it out of me. Then I had a week of catching up to do in school. A word of advice: If you ever have to take a course on compiler design, do not do the project without a partner. It's total madness for one person to do it all.

This here is a view of some spring grass growing in the UCSD administration complex courtyard. I had to go pick up some prescriptions at the pharmacy, and had been planning on taking some photos of a really cool tree in the aforementioned courtyard. Unfortunately, those photos didn't turn out. :-/ Good to see it wasn't a total loss, though.
