Don't Let Me Slam
This photo was technically taken tomorrow, not today, but with a few exceptions one day at the coffee shop is the same as any other. This door has some self-control issues, and asks openers for their help in not slamming, as it's apparently prone to doing.

SRSLY.
In line with April Fools' Day, here's something a bit light-hearted. Obviously I didn't the photo, but I did add the caption.
I'm counting the seconds until Obama replaces this douche.

Powerfruit
Heather and I went to the Sprint store today to see about getting her phone in working order. Mike just got a new phone, so he bequeathed his old one to her. It just so happens that it's the same model as her old phone, so all she had to do was get the service transferred to Mike's old one. And would you believe it was free, at that?
There's a smoothie shop - I think it's a Juice Stop - between Starbucks and the Sprint store, which is where I noticed this rather amusing phrase. "Organic Powerfruit." I promptly took a photo of it and submitted it to the Fake Band Names group on Flickr. ;)

Happy Birthday, Kevin!
Today was Kevin's birthday. He was more than a bit surprised, I think, that he finally got the Xbox 360 of his own that he's been after since last Christmas. But that's not what this photo's about. It's a long story, but the short version is this: There's a running gag in the house about Kevin getting kicked in the balls. Why? I doubt anyone knows any more; it's just a part of our rapport now. Anyway, Kevin's losing his composure here because Aaron drew a little picture in a card of him giving Kevin a birthday nut-shot. The faces on the characters are quite hilarious. I'll have to put up a scan or photo of the drawing, because it's not to be missed. :P

Lady Liberty
I had to go to Fry's to get some printer ink today. On the way there, there's a tax-preparation service, and they've always got a person in some kind of patriotic get-up working the corner. It's not uncommon to see Uncle Sam around as well.
I know it's a lean time for civil liberties, but I didn't think it was bad enough for Lady Liberty herself to become a "lady of the evening!"

Disneyland
Heather, Holly, Kevin, and me at Disneyland. I had a lot of fun; it was just the kind of escape from the real world that I've been needing. It was a bit unnerving that so many of the rides had "technical difficulties," though. Maybe they were just worn out from the weekend. And the Matterhorn was closed for renovation?! That's one of the reasons I went! X( But at least we got to go on Pirates and Space Mountain. The latter was just as fun as I remembered; it was worth the extra wait.
The one downside to Disneyland is that it's a good place for couples to go. Not a good place for a romantically jaded individual such as myself. But I managed. ;)
The standard friends-and-family disclaimer applies.

Dread Head
Holly's trying to put her hair in dreadlocks, but it seems awfully short. I think it's pretty awesome how it is, though. Except that it reminds me of Pinhead from the Hellraiser series, which is kinda scary.
I took the CSE 131 midterm today. I think it went pretty well, but it seems hard to tell these days. I'm certain that I did better on this one than on the 169 final, though. That's good news. I also got a totally awesome Gorillapod for my camera today. =D I can't wait to start using it.

Jitensha Sumo
Holly and I went to Blick Art Materials downtown today. I got a few more Copic markers, so now my 72-marker wire stand is fully loaded. Completion! I have quite a good assortment now.
This bike was parked outside; it has some kind of rubber sumo wrestler mounted on the handlebars, which I found rather amusing. Not a great shot, but I guess you can't expect a masterpiece every time...

US Apology
Sorry, I don't have a photo for you today. But here's a rather amusing screenshot to ponder. Innocent misspelling, or secret venting of frustration? You be the judge! You'll have to go to the Flickr page to see it, I think.

Crunk on a Stick
We went to our aunt Diana's house for New Year's Eve, which was a lot of fun. Naydyne and her family were there this year as well. It was good catching up. I cannot believe how much Alex and Alisha have grown up in just two years!
However, it wasn't quite as good once Heather's martinis caught up with her soon after this photo... It's blurry, but all the better to express the, uh, merriment of the moment.
Note about this one: If you want to see a larger version, you'll have to be one of my friends or family on Flickr.
